me buy a “beginners digital camera.” It makes fairly good pictures, but I am ready to move on. I once had a Minolta X-700 SLR camera that made great pictures, I think. I would like to buy a new digital camera that will produce pictures that good. I don’t care about the “bells and whistles,” because I would not be able to understand them anyway. I just want a very high quality basic camera that does most things automatically. I once saw a big “magazine-like book” on a newsstand that had reviews of many different digital cameras. When I went back to buy it, it was gone. Can you suggest a “book” or magazine that is devoted entirely to judging digital cameras?

You can buy a Sony alpha series DSLR which will use Minolta AF lenses.

Check B&N or Borders for magazines that cover the new DSLR cameras.
